2020 aesthetic

During these critical times, the creative side of fashion has slowly faded and it is used more for its practicality, as we spend most of our days at home/inside. I think that this has impacted fashion to become more comfortable (oversized) and the fabrics used to be more natural and breathable. This isolation and distancing from the outside world, creates an even stronger bond with nature, as we feel it and need it the most now. Therefore, the phrase “one with nature” describes this year’s atmosphere the best, from earthy tones to animal prints and raw fabrics.

My aesthetic for this year’s fashion is shown in the mood board below, which also contains interior décor inspiration, as the environment I live in takes a huge part in creating the right vibe and mood. The key terms are clean cuts, geometric shapes, kind of a minimalist vibe, but with interesting details. Tailoring/ power suits are huge this season,  but who minds it? Anyone can effortlessly style them and it’ll still give you that strong, independent woman feeling. I find tailoring to be a real work of art, as the craftsmanship and talent behind it are truly fascinating.

I believe that fashion is not about trends, but about style and the freedom of expression that it gives you. So no matter how hard the times we live in are, don’t forget to stay inspired and enjoy the beauty of fashion.
